New video of Nikita Jazz American
Jim Iannucci Asked me to stop by the local winery where he was playing a few weeks ago in Highlands Mills, NY He wanted to give the Jazz American a try. I was very curious to see how it would play myself with lighter strings,So I changed the flat wound 14-56 strings to a set of 10-46 and well the rest is history. Jim said after the session that he loved the playability and rich sound of the Walnut hollow body. I'm now working a solid body version of this guitar with three humbuckers.

Nikita Dragon Tele Update
Nikita Dragon Tele
By James Mellozzo
This series is something new I'm creating. My Mom was a dress maker and all my life I grew up around amazing fabrics. They still turn me on so I decided to use them in my guitars. This the fist and only of this pattern, some of my collectors have already claimed the patters they wanted. Only one of each will be made.
Remember the person with the most guitars WINS!!!

Fabric Tele with Candy apple clear coat
Okay, the next step was to apply 10 coats of red dye candy apple red to the back sides and neck of the guitar. Now comes the waiting, this will need to dry or shrink for a week to ten days. After about three days I will give it a light sanding to open the Nitro clear and let it breath again. This will give it a harder finish to work with in the end. This body will need another ten coats before it's done. Most of the time you sand off at least half of what you spray on. I will be posting the sanded body and the finish product in about two weeks.
Stay tuned for other projects I'm working on and feel free to ask any questions a long the way.
James
Fabric Tele Next step
This is the next step in creating the fabric tele, I applied a Birdseye maple veneer on the back and made a Birdseye maple neck to match. The neck will be attached with screws and ferrules to increase sustain. At this point the fabric has five coats of Nitro lacquer and has been sanded smooth on top.
The next step in the cherry red dye and the clear coats.
Stay tuned, James

My Clients New Project
I'm working on this guitar with a customer of mine, He sent me his design to me on paper and we worked together to build this awesome new guitar. He contacted me trough Ebay and wanted to build a guitar with his eleven year old son. I built the body blank with the woods of his choice and also the neck, Then I had Matt from Custom CNC cutting program the shape of the body and do the cutting. The whole project cost my customer about $650.00 for materials and labor. If he was to try this process with some of the other well known builder out there it would of cost him twice as much and he would not of had the freedom of design. This was a fun project for both of us and now he is working on other designs.
If anyone is interested in designing you own guitar , You can contact me at:nikitaguitars@gmail.com

Tom Doyle Guitars
Hey, Hey, Hey
I'm just back from my first day of internship with Master Luthier Tom Doyle, People say his is one of the top ten builders in the world.I'm honored to be there, One of the prerequisites of the program is you most show your past history and already be a reputable builder.I'm expanding my line to include a Nikita Jazz arch top model. I'm working with Tom one on one to learn the secrets of the master. He has build guitars for some of the most talented and famous musicians on the planet and has been working with Les Paul for over twenty years. I met Tom at the Iridium in Manhattan where he is Les Paul's sound engineer. We had a great conversation and now I'm part of the group. I will be posting my progress with Tom and my new Jazz guitar each week on my blog.

Hi All,
This post is about a client of mine in Poland, I made him a LH body and neck made with Macassar Ebony, I shipped it raw and he did all the finishing and assembly himself. He also engraved my name/logo on the peghead. I think he did an extraordinary job one this guitar and I'm very appreciative of the addition of my name. He also said the sound is excellent. Take a look at the picture and see for yourself.
